THE ZOOKEEPER'S WIFE (PG13)
The real-life story of one working wife and mother who became a hero to
hundreds during World War II. In 1939 Poland, Antonina Żabińska (portrayed
by two-time Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain) and her husband, Dr. Jan
Żabiński (Johan Heldenbergh of "The Broken Circle Breakdown"), have the
Warsaw Zoo flourishing under his stewardship and her care. When their
country is invaded by the Germans, Jan and Antonina are stunned - and forced
to report to the Reich's newly appointed chief zoologist, Lutz Heck (Daniel
Brühl of "Captain America: Civil War"). To fight back on their own terms,
Antonina and Jan covertly begin working with the Resistance - and put into
action plans to save lives out of what has become the Warsaw Ghetto, with
Antonina putting herself and even her children at great risk.

Sunshine") team up as lifelong buddies Willie, Joe and Al, who decide to
buck retirement and step off the straight-and-narrow for the first time in
their lives when their pension fund becomes a corporate casualty, in
director Zach Braff's comedy "Going in Style." Desperate to pay the bills
and come through for their loved ones, the three risk it all by embarking on
a daring bid to knock off the very bank that absconded with their money.

FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!!!
#1 MOVIE IN AMERICA!!

BOSSposter.JPG

BOSS BABY (PG)
DreamWorks Animation and the director of Madagascar invite you to meet a
most unusual baby. He wears a suit, speaks with the voice and wit of Alec
Baldwin, and stars in the animated comedy, DreamWorks' The Boss Baby. The
Boss Baby is a hilariously universal story about how a new baby's arrival
impacts a family, told from the point of view of a delightfully unreliable
narrator, a wildly imaginative 7 year old named Tim. With a sly,
heart-filled message about the importance of family, DreamWorks' The Boss
Baby is an authentic and broadly appealing original comedy for all ages.

BOSS BABY (PG)

FRI: (4:00) - 7:00
SAT: (1:00) - (4:00) - 7:00
SUN: (1:00) - (4:00)

RANTS, RAVES & RAMBLINGS FROM THE HEAD HONCHO

As we head into the big summer movie season, I need to take a second to
clarify something:
Remember, we only have 3 screens, folks. Unfortunately, we can't play
everything!
Sometimes we have to make brutal choices in our bookings because we are
looking further down the road, and want to make sure there will be a screen
available for something we REALLY want.

The first-run movie biz, is not like an art theater, or a 2nd run, or
repertory theater. When we commit to a first-run film, we have to keep it on
the screen for at least 2 weeks!
Sometimes, this really causes problems behind the scenes!
If we get stuck with a dud film, we just have to ride it out until we can
safely drop it.

Add to all of that, we are dealing with about 12 to 16 different studios all
the time, and they all have their varying forms of draconian rules and
regulations.

It's enough to give someone a heart condition!
(Which, many of you know I have developed in the almost 20 years running The
Avon!)

So, why do I do it?
You tell me!
(But, a big hint would be for you to go take a look in your mirror).

NEWS FLASH: Its Easter weekend, and the very popular church that is on our
block ("Renaissance") is going to do a big hoop-de-doo this weekend. From
Saturday through Sunday, our block will be closed off, BUT.ALL THE FLOORS IN
THE PARKING GARAGE WILL BE OPEN!!
So, come on down, see a great movie, and go hobnob with the church block
party.
It sounds like good clean fun!
Just don't forget I told you.

Saturday through Sunday.
Time for some old time religion!
(Except "Renaissance" is so popular because they mix the traditional values,
with some very modern thinking.)

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The Avon Theater has been YOUR locally owned, family-operated 'hometown
theater' for OVER 100 Years!!
This weekend, I'm looking for ALL of you and, especially...YOU!!
