JOKER (R)
"Joker" centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original,
standalone fictional story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips'
exploration of Arthur Fleck, who is indelibly portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix,
is of a man struggling to find his way in Gotham's fractured society. A
clown-for-hire by day, he aspires to be a stand-up comic at night...but
finds the joke always seems to be on him. Caught in a cyclical existence
between apathy and cruelty, Arthur makes one bad decision that brings about
a chain reaction of escalating events in this gritty character study.

back to her family roots with traditional Mexican canciones. Withstanding
constant pressure from a risk-averse industry, Linda insisted on following
her musical instincts. Today Ronstadt has Parkinson's disease and her
magnificent singing voice has been silenced. But rather than letting that
voice be lost to history, Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice tells
Linda's story through her own words and music, and by such professional

RANTS, RAVES & RAMBLINGS FROM THE HEAD HONCHO
So...It's October, yet it still feels like summer!!
That probably means Fall and Winter are going to come overnight, if you pay
attention to all the weird weather we've been having all over the globe.
I wouldn't be surprised if, by this time next week, we aren't up to our
fannies in SNOW!!
(In my wife's hometown of Reno, Nevada, it already snowed a few weeks ago!)
All of this is so you can start thinking about indoor entertainment!
Summer will eventually end, and all those outdoor activities Decatur has had
so much fun with all summer, will cease.
I don't want to hear from anyone ever again "There's nothing to do in
Decatur", because all the movie theaters (not just us) had extreme
competition from the new amphitheater, and what seemed like some kind of
outdoor music/beer fests every week!
The Avon is lucky, because we are LOCALLY-OWNED, and have much more patron
loyalty than those "other guys".
But, just the same, I'm glad cooler weather is around the corner!!
