RECENTLY, SKIP HUSTON RELATED ANOTHER STRANGE OCCURRENCE AT THE AVON THEATRE, THIS TIME INVOLVING THE MANAGEMENT TEAM’S RESIDENT SKEPTIC, GARY STRONG:

Gary has been our ONLY hold-out on the Avon ghost situation; literally EVERYONE else is now CONVINCED that The Avon harbors real denizens of the spirit world…

Monday night, Gary went into the theater by himself to get a video camera he had left there. As he walked into the balcony, he looked down at the stage, and realized that one of the decorative city streetlight’s that we have on the stage still had it blue light glowing (the one on the north); now, remember that I had sent Gary home early Sunday night because we were all exhausted. Chris (Barnett) and I were doing the ‘closing chores’, and, as Gary stood there in the balcony looking at the glowing blue light, he surmised that Chris and I had not unplugged the streetlights when we left.

He started down the stairs to the lobby and into the auditorium, only to find, upon entering, that the streetlight was NOT lit! Thinking the bulb had burned out during his trip from the balcony to the main floor, he went on to the stage to unplug the light, only to find that THE LIGHT WAS NOT PLUGGED IN! Now, remember, it is GARY’S job to plug and unplug the streetlights, so, he knows what he is doing!

As I told him, the light business is one of the most common manifestations of ghostly activity there is in the theater. After all, as I am so fond of saying: Ghosts are ENERGY! I told him that the ghost was merely letting him know that he was there. It was a friendly, and non-traumatic method of the spirit simply saying “Hello”…

Gary let it be known that he had been a skeptic all this time, but, now he is convinced! He is POSITIVE the blue streetlight was burning!
