they are over and we can get back to the regular movie
business!</FONT></SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN><FONT size=3>I thought the show was pretty fast-paced (compared to
previous years and the siege of Troy), and it was a welcome sight to see Billy
Crystal back.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN><FONT size=3><EM>(I couldn't help feeling nostalgic for Bob Hope
or Johnny Carson, but <U>someday</U> I'll be nostalgic for Billy
Crystal!).</EM></FONT></SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN><FONT size=3></FONT></SPAN> </DIV>
<DIV><SPAN><FONT size=3>To be sure, there were NO "surprises". NO
"upsets".</FONT></SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN><FONT size=3>It was a shame that only 2 songs were nominated when
there were many more worthy of it.<BR></FONT></SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN><FONT size=3>AND...</FONT></SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN><FONT size=3>Even though I admired THE ARTIST so much, and feel that
SO MANY OF YOU were wrong in being reluctant to see it, still MY favorite of the
films nominated was WAR HORSE.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN><FONT size=3>I even thought John Williams' wonderful music score of
WAR HORSE should have won over THE ARTIST.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN><FONT size=3><EM>(Honestly, my favorite part of THE ARTIST's score
was the segment cribbed from Bernard Herrmann's masterful score for VERTIGO---so
there!)<BR><BR></EM>But, what can I say? Harvey Weinstein was in classic form
with not one, not two, but FOUR Oscar contenders (the winning documentary
UNDEFEATED was a Weinstein film too!).<BR></DIV></FONT></SPAN>
<DIV><SPAN><FONT size=3>Harvey Weinstein personifies the old-style
Hollywood mogul, in every sense of the term.<BR><BR>Now, let's be done with
