HACKSAW RIDGE is the extraordinary true story of Desmond Doss [Andrew
Garfield] who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men
without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII
to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the
war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. As an army medic, he
single-handedly evacuated the wounded from behind enemy lines, braved fire
while tending to soldiers and was wounded by a grenade and hit by snipers.
Doss was the first conscientious objector to ever earn the Congressional
Medal of Honor.

Critics Consensus: Hacksaw Ridge uses a real-life pacifist's legacy to lay
the groundwork for a gripping wartime tribute to faith, valor, and the
courage of remaining true to one's convictions.

RANTS, RAVES & RAMBLINGS FROM THE HEAD HONCHO
Hiya, Folks!
We had to come to the realization this week that we don't have the space to
accommodate everyone we'd like to invite to our 100th Anniversary Party!
We'd have to have room for literally thousands.
We wouldn't want to leave anyone out.
After 18 years of the Huston family operations, we have built up such a
loyal clientele, it would be mind boggling to throw such a party.
There is literally no place in this town we could fit all of you!

Soooo, we came up with another plan:
Starting on our actual anniversary day of Monday, Nov. 28th, we will start
to have a series of special sales and at least one very special event during
the month of December.
These things will be announced right here in this newsletter, and on our
fabulous FaceBook page.

I guess you could say it's a tribute to all of you that we have so many
loyal followers.
But, I really wanted to have a party!
(Although, a lot of folks say every time they come to the Avon it's like a
party!)

Be watching for those 100th Anniversary things all during the month of
December!

AND.although I will probably get a chance to tell you this next week: HAPPY
THANKSGIVING!!
