We've always known that Spider-Man's most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It's great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

Based on the #1 New York Times best-selling book of the same name, HEAVEN IS FOR REAL brings to the screen the true story of a small-town father who must find the courage and conviction to share his son's extraordinary, life-changing experience with the world. The film stars Academy Award (R) nominee and Emmy (R) award winning actor Greg Kinnear as Todd Burpo and co-stars Kelly Reilly as Sonja Burpo, the real-life couple whose son Colton (newcomer Connor Corum) claims to have visited Heaven during a near death experience. Colton recounts the details of his amazing journey with childlike innocence and speaks matter-of-factly about things that happened before his birth ... things he couldn't possibly know. Todd and his family are then challenged to examine the meaning from this remarkable event.

For those of you who missed last Saturday's incredible event at the Avon where the Millikin Symphony Orchestra, under the mastery of Conductor Michael Luxner, accompanied the Charlie Chaplin 1931 silent classic CITY LIGHTS---you missed one of the greatest cultural events in the history of the Avon Theater, and, an artistic high point for our entire community!
There were hundreds there, but---there were hundreds of seats STILL available too!
For those of you who attended, I say a heartfelt: THANK YOU!!
And for those of you who didn't come....it was totally and irrevocably YOUR LOSS!

READ CAREFULLY, THESE CLASSES ARE NOT THROUGH RICHLAND!!

WHERE??: The Avon Theaters!
TIMES??: We always start at 6:30 (or thereabouts).
PRICE??: $80 for 8 weeks of film buff heaven!
HOW TO PAY??: These are NOT through Richland this time, so you will need to pay the Avon directly. Info below....
