For those of you who don't read the Herald & Review, and knew my Mom (or just love the Avon Theater, for that matter), here is her death notice. I hope you will all stop by to pay your respects and sign the guestbook Thursday night, between 6 and 8 at Brintlinger & Earl on Oakland Ave.

Sara Huston-Redden
DECATUR -- Sara Evelyn “Sally” Huston-Redden, 87, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 4:20 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur, IL.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 6, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.

Sara was born March 25, 1926, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Edward Frank and Bessie Ethel (Shaw) Burchard. She married Kenneth L. Huston, Sr. in 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1979. She married Robert B. Redden of Tuscola, IL and he preceded her in death in 1982.

Sara was a real estate broker for P.H. Sproat Realty and then established Sally Huston Realty Company. She was the first female G.R.I. in Macon County. She was a member of Illinois Realtors Association. Sara designed two houses in Decatur, IL. She was a member of South Side Country Club and enjoyed playing golf. Sara was a member of the DMH Auxiliary and helped with the Fun Fair in Decatur. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her daughter Stephani (Byron) Cox and son Skip (Susan) Huston, all of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Sunni (Joe) Jenkins of Decatur, IL, Kelli (Dan) Androff, of Decatur, IL, Courtney (Todd) Giger of Forsyth, IL, Melissa (Ryan) Rinchiuso of Decatur, IL; great-grandchildren Gregory (Ragini) Jenkins, Tyler Jenkins, Cory Giger, Cassidy Androff, Lilly Rinchiuso and Addison Rinchiuso; and many nieces and nephews.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the 4th floor unit at St. Mary’s Hospital, especially Brittany and Maggi for the loving care given to Sally.
