When you have MERYL STREEP and TOMMY LEE JONES as a long-time married couple trying to get the 'spark' back in their relationship, and STEVE CARELL as the therapist trying to help them, you can't find a better mixture for laughs and fun (and a bit of a "message' thrown in).

The reviews on this are EXCELLENT, and its the perfect "Avon movie"!!

RANTS, RAVES & RAMBLINGS FROM THE HEAD HONCHO

I promised you last week I would share with you some of the secrets of why our popcorn was so much better than most others on the face of the earth, and here we go:
It's actually not a deep, dark secret; it is based mainly on not worrying about or being slavish to the "bottom line".

In truth, the "food cost" of popcorn at the Avon is more than twice what those "other guys" would allow!
Then, we sell it for lower prices than they do!
Are we nuts, or what?

First we start with a locally-grown, ultra-hybrid corn that is more costly than the cheap corn "others" use...
Then, we pop it in ADM Sunflower oil, a very expensive oil, but so tasty for popcorn!
(Most others use a cheap and extremely unhealthy Coconut oil).

THEN, we top it (at your election) with REAL CLARIFIED BUTTER!
Not grocery store butter, mind you, but REAL CLARIFIED BUTTER!
This stuff is so expensive, that even at the 50 cents extra we charge, we aren't near in a profit mode there!

All our "Gourmet Flavors" are made right on-site by our popcorn chef Melissa (Huston) Rinchiuso.
So, all those wonderful flavors, including our Caramel, our Chocolate, and so many others, are cooked up right there by Melissa!

-Our "Bacon Popcorn" uses REAL bacon and REAL garlic butter.

Y'see, the trick is making a commitment to QUALITY, and not looking at the bottom line!
Believe me, we sell so much more popcorn, we more than make up for a higher food cost percentage!

And, in the same vein, here is a little story that happened last weekend:
The big popper in the Twins lobby had a malfunction.
It was not a major problem, but it was something our General Manager, Ashley Petty, was not happy with...
So, what did she do?
She put the Twins popper out-of-service, and proceeded to dismantle most of the workings of it to find the malfunctioning part.
The broken part was identified, and a replacement was ordered that should be here and installed today (Wednesday) or tomorrow...
(If you see us popping in the Twins, you'll know it is fixed).

The point is: 
We could have continued using the Twins popper, instead of popping all our corn over in the Avon and moving it to the Twins; but Ashley, being a true-blue Avonian, was not about to EVER settle for "second best". 
And THAT, Avon fans, is the secret of why our popcorn is so much better than others!

We never settle for anything a fraction less than "superb"!
(And that is also why so many of you prefer coming to THE AVON!!)
