REAL STEEL (PG13)
A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future where the sport of boxing has gone high-tech, Real Steel stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

Successful publisher Will Atenton (Daniel Craig) quit a job in New York City to relocate his wife, Libby (Rachel Weisz), and two girls to a quaint New England town. But as they settle into their new life, they discover their perfect home was the murder scene of a mother and her children. And the entire city believes it was at the hands of the husband who survived. When Will investigates the tragedy, his only lead comes from Ann Paterson (Naomi Watts), a neighbor who was close to the family that died. As Will and Ann piece together the disturbing puzzle, they discover that the story of the last man to leave Will's dream house will be just as horrifying to the one who came next. 

Worthy of the term "Hitchcockian", this thriller with the top-notch cast is one many of us have been looking forward to!

RANTS, RAVES & RAMBLINGS FROM THE HEAD HONCHO

Hellos and Goodbyes...
The goodbyes can be tough ones.
We are so particular about who we hire to be on our staff, and invest so much confidence and energy in each of them, when one of them inevitably moves on, we miss them as if one of our own family was leaving!

Usually, we lose them to college...
But, even that is workable for a while.

Last year, 2 of our top girls, Hannah Elliott and Jill Monroe went off to college, yet they have been back to work for Summers and holidays.
You will see them working at Rocky Horror, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
But, someday that will end for them.
Just like 2 other of our top staff veterans, Molly Kiick and Abby Andrick, they invariably move on to start their adult careers.
(Molly is now working in NYC, and Abby in Chicago)

-And that is because we take great pains to hire quality people.

Now, we have another story of "goodbye", but, as much as it is sad, there is a happy ending to it...

GOODBYE EMILY!!
Emily White has been our Assistant Manager for 2 years now, and she is a very familiar face to many of you.
She will be moving to Asheville, NC in a few weeks to join her boyfriend who has a new job down there.
Let's all wish her good luck in starting a new life in a very highly-ranked place to live!
(But, as she will find out: There is NOTHING like the Avon Theater there!)

WELCOME BACK ASHTYN!!
Here's a face many of you remember too! Ashtyn Kline was with us for about 3 years while she was in high school and college. She currently works for LLCU.
She missed all of us so much, she is arranging her work schedule to come back as our new Assistant Manager!
There is really nothing that could have eased the sting of losing Emily as much as Ashtyn returning to us.
She knows the job as if she'd never been away (and, in fact, those with sharp eyes might recall she has filled in a few times since she originally left!).

So, a wistful goodbye to Emily, and a wildly enthusiastic welcome back to Ashtyn!!
