THE MUPPETS  (PG)
THE HUGE AVON HIT THAT EVERYONE (Except for the usual kill-joys) LOVES!!
On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets' former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate.

Some interesting little tidbits here...
* Last Monday, Nov. 28th, The Avon Theater was 95 years old!
And unlike all of Decatur's theaters that are long gone, The Avon has just hit its stride!
We're already making plans for the 100th birthday celebration that will be held Summer of 2016.
We're talking  birthday party to the max!

* Have you noticed the changes in the Avon Twins lobby and snack area yet?
Not only has Avon "Godfather" Troy Taylor (picture below) expanded the snack menu, but I think you will be surprised at the other changes too!

Now that Troy has moved back here from the Chicago area, we are benefiting from this popular and prolific author's (84 books in print, and counting! No foolin'!)
impeccable "eye" for detail! Look for more cool things coming too!

* For all of you who have been so patient during the road-work that has stretched endlessly on since mid-August, we really are reaching a visible completion date. It will be a beautiful addition to downtown when it is finished...
(I have my own thoughts as to why it has taken so long, but that is a story for another time and place).
