THE BLIND SIDE (PG13) 
Every once in a while a movie comes around that is so exhilarating and full of hope, it just begs to be seen and savored. This is such a movie! The national reviews for this have been mostly excellent (73% favorable as of this writing--which equates to a three or three-and-a-half star rating in my book) and that fact that it is based on an incredible true story lends it even more gravitas. SANDRA BULLOCK just may pull off an Oscar nomination for this one (she's had an interesting year; "The Proposal" was the biggest money-making hit of her career, and "All About Steve" was one of her worst) as she is in full 'Erin Brokovich' mode here. It doesn't hurt that Country music superstar TIM McGRAW is on hand as her husband, and Oscar-winner KATHY BATES is here too! 
I'm not really a "sports fan", yet some of my favorite movies in the world are "sports movies"; go figure.
Y'see, its really not about the sports...it's about winning and losing and, yes, redemption.

All your favorite stars from the first outing are here; groovy little KRISTEN STEWART, and the hearthrob ROBERT PATTINSON, as star-crossed lovers with a lot to overcome! (There's an understatement, huh?)
When I went into "movie snob" mode last year and did not play "TWILIGHT", I realized what a horrid mistake I made a little too late! (Sometimes my "art house" roots get in the way of good old fashioned free enterprise!)
Anyway: mea culpa! I'm atoning for it now!

A NOTE FROM THE HEAD HONCHO...

NOTE OUR THANKSGIVING EXTENDED SCHEDULE!!!
We will be running ALL DAY LONG on Turkey day, and the times on THURSDAY will be markedly different from earlier in the week! BE CAREFUL ON THE SHOWTIMES!! I

It's hard to believe it is almost Thanksgiving again!
It seems only yesterday I was crabbing about what a lousy summer it was!
(Wait a minute, that WAS yesterday!)

I always try to stop and count my blessings every day, but it is nice there is an actual holiday set aside for doing just that.
Times are tough, and I know many may feel there is nothing to be thankful for...
But you would be wrong.
As long as there is life, love and laughter, there is hope!
And if "hope" is not reason for giving thanks, I don't know what is!
