IRON MAN (PG13) OK!! Now starts the Summer movie season! The incredible cast in this one includes ROBERT DOWNEY, Jr., GWYNETH PALTROW, JEFF BRIDGES and a whole host of others! Now, I know some of the art-film crowd will turn up their nose at this, but, guess what?? IT IS GETTING EXCELLENT REVIEWS!! So there! (Besides, it is "tent poles" like this movie that enable us to afford to play the more esoteric art & indy films!).

BABY MAMA (PG13) This comedy about surrogate motherhood and all the inherent hilarious complications stars TINA FEY, who is the hottest new comic talent in the Universe right now. Her TV stints on Saturday Night Live and currently on 30 Rock, have gained her a fan-base that is huge! Add to that her old-TV sidekick AMY POEHLER, and the always fun GREG KINNEAR, and the legendary STEVE MARTIN; not to mention SIGOURNEY WEAVER, and you have a cast that is ready to deliver the goods!

A NOTE FROM SKIP...
Decatur City Manager Steve Garman will be leaving his position on Thursday, April 30th, and I, for one, am very sorry to see him go.
His job is a thankless one, as a rule, but I still would like to thank him!
Steve has been a true friend to the Avon and yours truly for many years, and has proven himself to be a "class act".

Steve is a real movie buff, and I think he was pleased to find a kindred spirit in me.
(In fact, I am the only person on this earth he would be reluctant to play "movie trivia" with!!)

Here's wishing him great things in the future, and a fruitful job search.

The Avon Theatre and the citizens of "Avonia" will miss you mucho, Steve!
