The right candidate MUST have mechanical skills, and at least some basic
knowledge of projection. Must be available for a 10 day training period
before starting the position.

HAIRSPRAY (PG) Ok, ok...I knew this was going to be good for us, but I didn't know it would be a monster!! This toe-tapping, song-filled musical has so much heart and soul, it defies description! John Tavolta is not only incredible in this, he is a veritable force of nature!
The entire cast is marvelous, and the dance numbers are so energetic and well-done, they will wear you out! The reviews have been all but unanimous (except for a few party-poopers), and virtually every age-group can see and love this one! We had them all this weekend!
Seniors, Students. Boomers, Teenagers, Adolescents!!! IF YOU PASS ON THIS ONE, I WILL FIND YOU AND DRAG YOU TO THE THEATER!!

I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK & LARRY (PG13) Currently the #1 movie in America (and maybe that's because many have not yet seen HAIRSPRAY or were home reading the new Harry Potter book!), this funny sit-com-like take on two burly straight firemen who have to pretend to be a gay couple for insurance reasons, will have you belly-laughing that's for sure! Adam Sandler and Kevin James star with foxy-babe Jessica Biel. ENDS THURSDAY!!!

HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX (PG13) People can't get enough of Harry Potter and the whole mythology surrounding it. This is the 5th movie and book in the 7 book series (the 7th and final book was just released Saturday). The fans really like this movie and say it is a "stand alone" film that takes the whole frame into a much darker place than before. ENDS NEXT WEEK!!

Imagine our embarrassment when we actually realized we FORGOT to do our FREE annual July 4th showing of "Our Decatur 1955"!!
(We own the only known copy of an hour-long documentary on Decatur made in 1955!)

We can really blame it on Gary Strong, whose retirement at the first of the year left vacant a role that was constantly vigilant about such things...
But, hey, its really OUR fault!

Sooooooo, we are thinking about doing it Labor Day weekend this year!!

Next Weekend is the annual downtown madhouse known as Decatur Celebration!
We are not happy about opening one of the biggest movies of the Summer, THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM, on that weekend, but that is the national release date!
(We tried to get Universal Studios to consider moving the release date for us, but all they said was "Who Is This??"--so we quickly hung up)....
I hope you will all brave the crowds and lack-of-parking to support us with this dynamite new film!
I know that many of you stay as far away from downtown during Celebration weekend as you can, but, who knows??
Come on down and you may end up actually enjoying yourself!!
(Besides, we will be there waiting for you with the best popcorn, the best hot-dogs & the best nachos!! Cheaper than at Celebration too!)

First we lost our pal and stalwart Avon fan Marcus Thorpe to the clutches of a TV station in Columbus, Ohio, and now...
We will soon lose his spouse, the ever-lovely Mikaela Hunt to that same station! What be goin' on here? Why is Columbus, Ohio taking some of my favorite people?? What did I ever do to Ohio?? If these Buckeye Bozos take one more of my friends and customers, I am going to demand an official investigation!!

I got an early start on the newsletter this week because I am trying to take some time off and swim in my pool and lay in the sun!!
